Nate Wood

Nate Wood brings a lifelong passion for hockey and player development to SDP Hockey. A graduate of Cloquet High School, Nate, a skilled puck rushing defenseman, helped lead the Lumberjacks to the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament during his junior season and served as team captain as a senior. Following high school, he continued his playing career in the NAHL with the Wichita Falls Rustlers.

Nate has been actively involved in youth hockey for almost 20 years, first in Brainerd and with the Osseo-Maple Grove Hockey Association for the last 10 seasons, coaching at both the Mite and Bantam AA levels. At SDP, he has focused on helping young players develop and grow their skill sets and love for the game. Hoping to help them create habits that translate to success both on and off the ice.

Nate is a Maple Grove resident, where he lives with his wife, Merryssa, and their four children, Henry (6), Piper (5), Nash (3), and Hattie (1).
