Rich Dean

Rich Dean grew up in Langley, British Columbia, Canada, where he played association hockey throughout his youth. He went on to play one season of Junior B hockey with the Grandview Steelers before spending two seasons with the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL.

Rich then shifted his athletic focus to baseball, moving south of the border to play five years of collegiate baseball at Lewis-Clark State College and Mayville State University. In recognition of his outstanding collegiate career, he was inducted into the Mayville State University Hall of Fame in 2022. He later earned his MBA from the University of North Dakota.

Following his playing career, Rich began coaching baseball at the University of North Dakota. During the summers, he served as the head coach of the Medicine Hat Mavericks in the Western Major Baseball League (WMBL).

Rich currently resides in Maple Grove, Minnesota, with his wife, Dana, and their four children: Cameron, Dylan, Brayden, and Danica. All three of his sons have developed through the SDP Hockey program. Today, Rich is a part-owner of SDP Hockey and is passionate about helping young athletes develop both on and off the ice.
