Tyler Kostelecky

Tyler Kostelecky - BCHL

Tyler was born and raised in Maple Grove, Minnesota and played multiple sports growing up including hockey, baseball, and golf. He developed his love and passion for hockey through his dad who is a hall of famer at Owatonna High School for his achievements in hockey and golf. Tyler played in the Osseo-Maple Grove Hockey Association from mites through bantams, and then went on to play for Maple Grove High School. At Maple Grove, he was a 3-year letter winner, 2x All-Conference player, was named to the 2019 CCX Media All Area Team, and captained the crimson his junior and senior year. In addition, he earned the Preston Hagen Achievement Award for exemplifying confidence, sportsmanship, positive attitude, and the love of hockey, and in March of his senior year was chosen by the Minnesota Wild as a high school captain of the month for his passion to create a greater state of hockey. Prior to his senior season at Maple Grove, he verbally committed to play division 1 hockey for Arizona State University.

After high school, Tyler headed west to play for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL. Prior to getting injured, he appeared in 15 games for the Bulldogs recording 4 goals and 3 assists and playing on the top 2 lines as a rookie. Tyler will head back to the Bulldogs for the 2020-2021 season before going to Arizona State.

Tyler brings experience coaching multiple youth hockey camps for kids ranging from mites to bantams throughout his time at Maple Grove. He always brings energy and excitement to the rink that makes learning and improving fun!
