Trevor Kukkonen grew up playing hockey, baseball and golf in Maple Grove, MN. After playing multiple youth sports he went on to play Varsity hockey for the Maple Grove Crimson. At Maple Grove Trevor was a 2 time all conference athlete, 2 time team offensive MVP, named to the CCX media all area team his junior and senior year, lettered all three years and captained the Crimson in his final 2 seasons. Before his junior season at Maple Grove Trevor verbally committed to play Division 1 hockey at Michigan Tech University. 

After high school, Trevor began his junior career in the USHL with the Madison Capitols before finishing the season with the Minnesota Magicians in the NAHL. 

While playing hockey Trevor has also coached all age levels ranging from mites to bantams. He has received instruction from all levels of coaches and brings years of experience in skill development to SDP.
